Andrew, headquartered in Westchester, IL, is an S&P 500 company founded in 1937. Due to our continued growth and customer demand, we are currently recruiting for a qualified Senior Manufacturing Polymers Engineer located at our Joliet, Illinois facility.

Job Summary:

Provide expert advise and support in the specification, design and manufacture of precision plastic injection molded parts and coordinate global procurement efforts to support a global production capacity plan.

Essential Functions:
• Coordinate global procurement efforts for new molding tooling and/or equipment. Determine appropriate mold tooling design to ensure expected quality and cost are met. Work with operational management to ensure production capacity is available to support projected production/sales plan.
• Maintain available mold tooling inventory noting tool location, capacities and other required data used in supporting a global production capacity plan.
• Function as a new product development team member, provide expert advice and support in the specification, design and manufacture of precision plastic injection molded parts.
• Responsible for molding vendor identification, qualification, and technology transfer for all regional manufacturing locations globally. Provide dedicated engineering link between product development team and molding vendors.
• Carry out cost reduction efforts thru optimizing tooling, processes and materials.
• Qualifications:

B.S. Mechanical Plastics or other Engineering Degree or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in precision plastic injection molding process/manufacturing engineering.
• Strong written and oral communications, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Must be willing and eligible to travel internationally.
