Details Responsibilities:

Will be tasked with ensuring the fault-free operation of all PBX switches in AWCC network, used by both AWCC and AWCC’s CustomeMaintain PBX-related related databases, software and hardware configuration documentation.
Maintain the Interface configurations, translations and routing tables of all PBX’s to allow optimal traffic handling and fault tolerance within the network as dictated by the CS Manager.
Ensure that all PBX alarms are audited and promptly serviced.
Ensure that trouble tickets are generated for all faults and incidents and that the CS manager is kept informed of such.
Perform routine O&M tasks as specified by the CS Manager.
Participate in test and fault investigation activities as required by the CS Manager.
Participate in upgrade/enhancement activities as required by the CS Manager.
Keep track of all modifications executed on all the PBX’s
Extract Performance Data, CDR’s and Alarm logs for delivery to the teams that need them
Ensure that regular Backups are taken for all switches.

Skills Description:

A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience of PBX Operations and Maintenance, preferably with exposure to Siemens ISDX, Lucent Avaya, and Ericsson MD110 PBX’s. However experience with any other major vendors’ products will also be considered.
Experience with ACD and Call Centre equipment highly desirable
Knowledge of structured Cabling and “Best Practice” cabling installations would be a distinct advantage.
Experience of networking and interfacing PBX’s to GSM and/or Fixed line networks using ISDN Primary Rate Access.
Possess good general knowledge of all other components of a Telecommunications network (apart from PBX’s) and their interactions with one another. (Power, Transmission, Switching, Data Fill, Translations & Routing etc)
Should possess good interpersonal skills, as interaction is required with both internal and external customers.
Good verbal and written English communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance and support personnel of both AWCC and customers of AWCC.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to isolate the root cause of problems.
Should be able to perform under pressure
A team player with a strong commitment transferring knowledge to other staff.


Must be a graduate of a recognized University, Polytechnic or other Technical Training Institute with specialization in Telecommunications.
