Due to our continued growth and customer demand we are currently recruiting for a qualified, interested and available Principal Process Engineer for an opportunity in our Antenna & Cable Group located in Joliet, Illinois.

KNOWLEDGE: Fully competent in the subject matter or functional areas of assignment. Employs a broad application of principles, theories and concepts in applicable discipline, plus working knowledge of other fields. Position requires use of advanced manufacturing techniques, core mechanical engineering disciplines and proven practicing skills. Skilled in one or more of the key skills listed and capable of understanding and contributing to most.

PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Provides innovative resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems. Must be capable of characterizing, developing and institutionalizing new and advanced manufacturing technologies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection and adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. Develops new approaches to manufacturing processes for optimized efficiency, quality and cost. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors. Acts as a key contributor and/or technical leader within a project team. Provide technical leadership to process engineering. Responsible for the research, design, development and planning for new assembly technologies. Work as part of development teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and compatibility to new manufacturing technologies. Create and maintain process technology roadmaps.

FREEDOM TO ACT WITHIN TECHNICAL DISCIPLINE Independently determines and develops approaches and solutions. Expected to identify and quantify opportunities for advanced process technologies. Provides technical guidance; mentors junior engineers. Consults supervisor concerning unusual or costly solutions.

IMPACT: Work significantly impacts achievement of business unit goals. Has demonstrated track record of successfully completed assignments. Represents the business unit on projects. Highest impact to global manufacturing cost, quality and efficiency.

COMMUNICATION: Expected to interact with all disciplines and levels of management. Expected to interact with customer, vendor and other business units

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or BSME with proven experience. Minimum 10 years of work experience in a manufacturing or production environment with an emphasis on manufacturing processes; or combined work history combining product development and manufacturing. Candidate must possess excellent oral/written communication skills. Job requires the ability to regularly contact, influence and negotiate with both internal and external individuals on complex issues. Candidate must be able to respond to inquiries and complaints with tact and diplomacy. Solid Works modeling skills preferred. Knowledge and experience in the following: - Material sciences - PCBA technologies including SMT ? Soldering technologies including: - Reflow - Vapor phase - Inductive - Resistive - Fluxless, - Soft beam. Automatic assembly and handling ? RF fabrication techniques. Design for life Cycle and Material joining technologies.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION: Working knowledge of personal computer. Various types of manufacturing equipment and measuring tools skills involved in material preparations such as forming, welding, corrugating, extruding, cutting, shaping, hardening, plating. TRAVEL IS A MUST
